This year we want to highlight the fifth element, without which there is no sense in acting, nor living: a game, a collective game. Man cannot live without playing, and perhaps isn't it true that “to act” you can say “to play” in English and “jouer” in French?
We play at the game of the theatre with the public, which at Mercantia is a group of single individuals, not an audience but protagonists of a great ritual collective game.
